Really excited to share a full PBR pipeline portfolio piece. Most of my work focuses on hand painted approaches, so stepping outside that comfort zone has been a great learning experience and a chance to lean into another area I love - lighting.
While the concept was very tempting to fully hand paint due to its painterly, stylised feel, I took a hand painted approach for the opal textures. One of the issues I did run into was the issues of colour consistency across PC and Mac displays which the blues tend to take a strange purple hue when viewed on a Mac but overall I’m really happy with how the piece came together. Looking forward to pushing further into PBR and more realistic workflows in future projects.
